Embrace Fear and Live Fully: A Motivational Boost Before the Weekend

Earlier this year, I made a bold decision: I quit my stable job of 12+ years at the Financial Times to build my own business. The decision wasn’t easy. I was plagued with doubts and fears. Would it work? What if I fail? But as Eminem famously says, sometimes you have to “lose yourself” to find the real you. This is precisely what I decided to do. To lose myself, to jump, and above all, to not be scared.

When faced with big decisions, fear is often the biggest obstacle. It places barriers in our path to success, leading us to avoid the very places we need to go: into the uncertainty, the blurry, the unknown. I’ve learned that when you find yourself thinking, "I want to do this, but I’m scared," it usually means that’s exactly where you need to go, even if it’s terrifying. That uncertainty, that fear, will eventually transform into your comfort zone. Trust me on this.

Eddie Murphy once put it quite matter-of-factly: if you live to be 70, you get to experience 70 summers, 70 birthdays. That’s a lot, but at the same time, it’s not so much. So why not go out there and enjoy life NOW? It’s not about waiting until you have this or that; you already have everything you need, it's in you.

Each person’s journey is unique, and we’re all at different stages. Comparing yourself to others is futile - it’s like comparing apples to pears. Focus on your own path, tend to your own grass, and watch it grow.

So, as we head into the weekend, I encourage you to embrace your dreams, face your fears, and live fully in the moment. Take that leap of faith; the unknown is waiting to become your comfort zone.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone! 🚀🌟
